State Softball and Baseball report for Saturday June 10th


North Laurel had advanced with a 2-0 win over Leslie County on Thursday, but dropped two lopsided decisions on Friday, 14-0 to Louisville Male and then 17-0 to Woodford County in an elimination game to fall out of the tournament.  The Lady Jaguars finished 28-8 on the season.


Knox Central, a 9-4 winner over Boyle County in first round play on Thursday, is one of eight teams still in pursuit of a state baseball championship as play continues Saturday.  The Panthers will meet Marion County at 1:30 in quarterfinal action in Lexington.  The Saturday schedule: Simon Kenton vs. Muhlenberg County at 11am, Knox Central vs Marion County at 1:30pm, McCracken County vs. Scott County at 6pm and Highlands vs. PRP at 8:30pm.
