A few pre-SEC Tournament notes about the Wildcats

• UK is in its 112th season of basketball and remains the national leader in total wins with 2,171.
• Kentucky finished the regular season undefeated at 31-0 and is the first program among the power five
conferences to finish the regular season undefeated since the 1975-76 Indiana Hoosiers.
• With a win vs. No 18/16 Arkansas, Kentucky clinched the outright regular-season SEC championship. UK
has nearly an equal number of conference titles (46) as the rest of the league combined (49).
• Kentucky is 31-0 to start the season for the first time in the history of the program, bettering the the 1953-
54 group’s 25-0 start. The Wildcats are also the first team in the history of the SEC to begin the year 31-0.
• The 31-0 start is the best of any John Calipari team he has ever coached. Also, the 31 straight wins is the
longest winning streak of Calipari’s career, topping his 2008-09 Memphis team’s 27 consecutive wins.
• UK has won 53 of its last 55 games as the Associated Press top-ranked team.
• With a win over Florida, Kentucky preserved its 15th perfect run through the SEC regular season and the
second time under Calipari.
• Kentucky raked in the 2014-15 SEC awards, winning four of the six major awards the league coaches
voted on. Calipari was tabbed SEC Coach of the Year, junior forward Willie Cauely-Stein was named SEC
Defensive Player of the Year, forward Karl-Anthony Towns won SEC Freshman of the Year and freshman
guard Devin Booker captured Sixth Man of the Year honors.
• Freshman forward Karl-Anthony Towns won SEC Player of the Week on Monday, the first Wildcat to win
the honor this season.
• Entering this weeks’ SEC tournament in Nashville, Tenn., Kentucky, with 27 tournament titles, has won exactly
half of the 54 SEC Tournaments. The Wildcats are 121-25 (.829) all-time in SEC Tournament games.
